Well, well, something around here seems different.

Yes, I changed the name of the blog! 2-Year Back-Blog never exactly rolled off the tongue. Plus, who even knows what the correct punctuation is. I’m not even sure I got it right just then.

I’m sure there were a lot of people who weren’t even sure what it meant in the first place. Well, this time last year I was still fairly fresh off my two-year missionary service. I thought I would be spending a lot of time catching up on old stuff that I missed, hence the whole concept of “Outdated reviews”. I was wrong.

Instead I’ve been much more focused on what I’m going to be doing with the rest of my life. Which is a fairly good thing to be focused on, I’d say! At this point, it’s hard to believe it’s only been a year. I’m actually happy with how much I’ve done, and that’s not a feeling I’m overly used to.

Particularly relevant to this blog, though, is that I figured out my strengths, and what makes me more unique as a writer. The new name is a fairly obvious portmanteau of ‘author’ and ‘autistic’ – far easier to decipher than what on earth a backblog is supposed to be. I’m not going to be writing specifically about being autistic unless I really feel like I have something to say, but a lot of what I write certainly touches on the matter. I’ve noticed that more and more as I’ve gone along.

You could look at this blog as a look into the mind of an autistic young aspiring author and journalist, but I certainly hope that’s not the only thing I have to offer. When all is said and done, I want people to read my writing because my writing is good.

And don’t worry – there’ll still be plenty of rants and reviews. Hard to fit those into the title, though. Authisantview. Reathisnt. Auranrestic. OK I give up.
